"People came up with religions to ... argue about God." - Mahatma Gandhi

The original of the article is taken from lusi_dallas, article "People came up with religions to ... argue about God."

Let’s discuss serious topics.

Article of dmitriyraevskiy "Orthodox karma" and a mass of comments on it, both adequate and not inspired a lot:

On my neck hang an image of Sergius of Radonezh, bought in Sergius Lavra by a very important person for me and vajra - a symbol of Tibetan Buddhism, donated by Teacher. They hang even on the same chain).

It is interesting that lightning has not hit me yet ...) In the mornings, I do yoga with pleasure, eat Indian sweets... And I carry the image of Archangel Michael with me. It is strange, right?)

There is a definition that shows the place of religion in the system of society very clearly: "the apparatus of society managing." Religion grows apart and often contrary to the original Teaching, where the words of the founder are interpreted as conveniently.

If you take a closer look, you can see that religion complies with culture and is designed to fulfill its role of managing society in each country.

In my opinion, all teachings are part of a single whole. If you study the texts, bypassing the interpretation of religious movements, you will find more similarities than differences.

Why do I love Buddhism so much? First of all it is for the fact that it does not deny other religions. Christianity and Islam are very fanatical.

Buddhism involves development, progressive ascent under the strict guidance.

Honestly, I could never understand why people are so inclined to share and argue?

There is an anecdote in the subject:

Once, several Vaishnavas rested in one of the parks. At the same time, the most important of the Orthodox holidays Easter was celebrated throughout the country. They sit, rest, and they see a priest walking past them. He sees that representatives of another religion are sitting on a bench and decides to engage in dialogue with them. He stops in front of them and says joyfully:

- "Christ is risen!"

Interestingly, but the Vaishnavas enthusiastically reply to him: - “Truly risen!”

Father is surprised and decides to repeat his phrase:

- "Christ is risen!"

They again enthusiastically exclaim:

- “Truly risen!”

God loves the Trinity, everyone knows this, and therefore the minister of the church shares his joy for the third time:

- "Christ is risen!"

Vaishnavas, enthusiastic, completely untiring, answer for the third time too:

- “Truly risen!”

Grace comes to the world. The priest, pacified and contented, is about to leave, and finally says:

“Well, then Hare Krishna!”

Amen. That is, Om. So, you understood)
