We’re going into the new year with fashion trends we weren’t quite expecting, but we’re loving them nonetheless and we know you will, too.

Another year is upon us, which means that fashionistas and eagle-eyed trendsetters can anticipate a whole new slate of what’s hip, hot, and chic in the fashion world.

And speaking of slate, it does feel like wiping the slate clean this year, in terms of fashion, after more than 2 years of the world going through the pandemic. Which is why we’ll see 2023 fashion back to being bolder, louder, and more festive, compared to the restrained and utilitarian style sense of the past 3 years.

Texture, texture, and more texture

It’s all in the details. A one-layered outfit just doesn’t cut it anymore. What really makes an outfit pop out is having all these varied textures that make the garment appear multi-layered and more fascinating. Think feathers, tassels, frills, boas, you name it.

A fashion trend we’re thankful for this year is the explosion of bright, vivid colors. Out with the neutral colors and in with the zesty hues, led by Viva Magenta, Pantone’s 2023 color of the year. Wearing vibrant colors mean you can experiment more with color combinations without worrying if wearing a bright pink on a cloudy day might be a little too much.
