New John Deere tractors with power. What makes them different?

Medium power tractors are among the most sought-after due to, among others, for a wide range of use in various tasks. What other important factors should you consider when purchasing such a machine?
First of all: high payload means… versatility
When choosing a tractor, many owners or managers of farms do not pay attention to its load capacity, which in practice ... can affect the versatile use of the machine. The possibility of hitching a heavy plow, harrow, but also a front linkage or the possible use of the machine in transport - these are the most common applications of the universal machine. With a maximum payload of 4.7 tonnes and a rear linkage lift capacity of 5.7 tonnes, the 6090M-6140M models gain a lot. - It is worth noting that the permissible total weight consists of the machine's own weight and its load capacity. With a payload of 4.7 tonnes, the new tractor can have a gross vehicle weight of as much as 10.5 tonnes, e.g. with a heavy plow at the rear and weights at the front and wheels for balance. Importantly, such a machine can legally be driven on the roads. In the case of competitors' machines, the load capacity does not exceed 3 tons, so in practice you can work with it, but without moving in traffic. The machine can be loaded for heavy work, and for lighter work, the load can be removed, these are the basic principles of optimizing agricultural machinery - says Szymon Kaczmarek, John Deere Product Specialist.
On family farms, there is often a need to use a given tractor for all kinds of work. On the other hand, in the case of larger enterprises, the versatility may translate into the possibility of offering services performed in a professional and efficient manner using a given machine, e.g. with a front loader or transport services.
Second: the gearbox will help with handling
The operator's efficiency depends not only on his experience and skills, but also on the improvements he can use on a daily basis. Therefore, in the new tractors of the 6M series, in addition to the well-known stage transmissions, the AutoPowr hydromechanical transmission has been implemented. These types of transmissions were previously reserved for premium class tractors, now the customer can opt for this type of transmission in a tractor with a rated power of 90 HP. It enables stepless speed control and constant power transmission at speeds from 50 m / h up to 40 km / h in transport. The lower speed can be especially useful for jobs such as harvesting vegetables. The transmission maintains the selected speed, automatically responding to changing loads. The new transmission is also available on tractors with basic equipment.
In the case of the 6M series, the manufacturer provided for a rated power of 90 to as much as 195 HP. For the 6090M-6120M models, it is 90-120 HP (with maximum power and the IPM system up to 145 HP) with a wheelbase of 2400 mm. Another size are tractors 6130M, and 6140M (up to 166 HP of maximum power) with a wheelbase of 2580 mm. On the other hand, in the case of a larger track (2765), the 6145M – 6155M models (power up to 172 HP) provide a more stable and comfortable ride, which is a valuable advantage during field work and driving on the roads. The largest of the tractors in this series (6175M – 6195M), weighing 7.5 tons, provides a maximum power of up to 216 HP, which is particularly important in heavier work.

Third: the new possibilities of the PDU + display
The current work of the operator is influenced by the possibilities of the display and its installation in a favorable place. On the new John Deere 6M models, it is located in the front right pillar of the cab from which, essential for operator comfort, AutoTrac can be controlled. The whole is subject to the principles of ergonomics, it is perfectly harmonized with the panel of the compact CommandARM console. All transmission functions, AutoTrac controls, fine adjustment of engine speeds and rear linkage control are now within easy reach. - The option to control the AutoTrac system from the basic display on the corner post is advantageous not only in terms of convenience, but also provides an alternative in terms of cost. Not every customer feels the need to use an additional monitor, which from his perspective may be an unnecessary expense, and the operator still has access to the automatic guidance option, adds the John Deere expert.Fourth: a comfortable cabin
For those in charge of the farm, no matter what the scale of the business, a simple assumption is very important: do more with less effort and time, and this is possible with the operator's comfort. The tractor's working area should be designed so that it is fully intuitive and easy to use, but also comfortable for the operator. - In addition, the new cab is equipped with a panoramic roof, which makes it possible to perform tasks more accurately and efficiently with the front loader. In the case of smaller models, a new version of the low-profile bonnet providing better visibility was also chosen. The operators will also notice the new Compact CommandArm armrest, or the console on the right, which includes all the most important functions, continues Szymon Kaczmarek.
Fifth: the more maneuverable ...
... the more efficient work. On smaller acreages, in transport or in other work, the maneuverability of the machine is important. On a 6M tractor, even with mounting frames to attach the loader and a connected front loader, the short frame machine maintains a tight turning radius of 4.35 m, which has become the benchmark in its tractor size class.
