Heading: Confused words // Classified

Hey, folks!

Today we're gonna try a new type of articles - CONFUSED words, what the H*LL, you think? Let's go find out, eh?

And the winners are ‘to receive’ and ‘to obtain’!

It is going to be easier than usual, alright? The main idea of both verbs is ‘getting something’. To understand the difference we will dig deeper and find the next explanation:

- "to receive" means getting something from somebody or something else; being given something by somebody or something;

- "to obtain" means getting and gaining something by ourselves.

e.g. We’ve received a car. Our factory administration offered it almost for free.

e.g. Visitors had to wait for some time to receive the ticket if they hadn’t booked it in advance.

e.g. A young and immature boy is looking for an opportunity to obtain some money to buy a bouquet of flowers for a girl, whom he’s fallen in love with.

e.g. Technologies allow both receiving and obtaining money in more ways than it was a hundred years ago.

e.g. Some people prefer receiving money from the authorities and banks as a bone for a dog instead of obtaining it by their own hard work.

And the question to you, folks: "How do you think should the authorities provide people with money? And why?"

Sure you've found these two brats amazing, see you along!

Cheers!
