Verify your accounts on Facebook and Instagram

Image for post

Your account must be public and have a bio, profile picture and at least one post. Your profile can't contain "add me" links to other social media services.

Your account must be the unique presence of the entity it represents. Generally, one account per entity may be verified, with exceptions for language-specific accounts. We don't verify general interest accounts why not try this out.

Notable

Your account must represent a well-known, highly searched for individual, brand or entity. We review accounts that are featured in multiple news sources. We don't consider paid or promotional content as sources for review.

!

Bear in mind that if you provide false or misleading information during the verification process, we will remove your verified badge and may take additional action to delete your account.

Apply for a Facebook verification badge

You can apply for verification by filling out this form.

!

If your account represents a person, you'll need a copy of your official government-issued photo identification (e.g. passport, driving licence, national identification card) to validate your request.

!

If your account represents an organisation, you'll need a copy of a phone or utility bill, a certificate of formation, articles of incorporation or tax exemption documents.

Please also include a few sentences explaining why the account should receive the verified badge, and relevant URLs that help illustrate the account's notability.

Apply for an Instagram verification badge

We look at a number of factors when evaluating Instagram accounts to determine if they're in the public interest and meet our verification criteria. Even if your account is eligible for verification, submitting a request doesn't guarantee that your account will be verified.

Request an Instagram verified badge

Once we've reviewed your request, you'll receive a notification letting you know if your account has been verified or not. If your request is denied, you can submit a new request after 30 days. Learn more about what happens after you apply for verification.

!

If a Facebook Page linked to your Instagram account is already verified, you will still need to apply for a verification badge on Instagram.

Can't get verified?

If your account does not have a verified badge and you aren't eligible to get one, there are other ways to show people that you're authentic. To demonstrate authenticity, you can:

Use the description in your Page or account's bio to tell visitors about who you are.

Use stories to provide a behind-the-scenes look into your life.

Encourage your followers to tag you so people can see you interacting with others.

Link to your Instagram account from your official website, Facebook Page, YouTube or Twitter account.
