Hey, folks.
As I promised, here's an explanation
Names ending in s
Singular
There are two ways of spelling it

However, they are both acceptable, this is just a matter of stylistic preferences.
Similarly, If the name of place already ends in s, we follow the same rule, so both are correct
Belrus' Council of the Republic is located in Minsk.
Belrus's Council of the Republic is located in Minsk.
Plural
For plural possessives of them, we do always put the apostrophe in the end.
Harrises' family is very proud of her.
The same rule holds for the names of places, that are plural.

Names ending in x or z
In this case, we follow the common rule, putting 's in the end.
