WHAT IS CALAPTIN 40MG TABLET

CALAPTIN 40MG TABLET contains Verapamil which belongs to the group of medicines called Calcium channel blockers. It is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure), manage and prevent chest pain (angina). It is also used to treat and prevent certain types of abnormal heartbeats.

CALAPTIN 40MG TABLET is not recommended for use if you have heart failure or severe problems with the heart rhythms, recent history of heart attack, slow heart rate, low blood pressure. Consult your doctor before taking it.

HOW CALAPTIN 40MG TABLET WORKS

CALAPTIN 40MG TABLET works by blocking the movement of calcium into the cells of the heart and blood vessels. As a result, it relaxes blood vessels which leads to the lowering of high blood pressure. This increases the blood supply and oxygen to the heart while also relaxing the heart muscle. Thus, treating high blood pressure and angina (chest pain) effectively. CALAPTIN 40MG TABLET also interfere with the electrical signals in the heart muscle, useful in treating abnormal heartbeats.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Take CALAPTIN 40MG TABLET as advised by your doctor. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending on your age, body weight and disease condition. Do not stop taking CALAPTIN 40MG TABLET until your doctor tells you to stop. Otherwise, your condition may get worse.
