Should I Become An ADHD Coach?

What is ADHD coaching?

ADHD coaching is a form of life coaching, a place where people with ADHD can find support and comfort. An ADHD coach focuses on helping individuals with ADHD identify goals, develop strategies to meet those goals, and work through personal issues related to their condition.

What are the benefits of becoming an ADHD coach?

The benefits of being an ADHD coach include the satisfaction of supporting people in need, being flexible in your working hours, and being able to work from anywhere. Coaching a rewarding job as a coach gets to see the improvements in their clients over time. Freelance work, such as coaching, also provides the opportunity to work from anywhere, giving ADHD coaches complete control over where they live and how much time they spend working. Additionally, freelancers have the potential to earn more money than traditional employees as hourly rates are usually high relative to salaried jobs.

What do I need to become an ADHD coach?

To become an ADHD coach, you need to be passionate about understanding ADHD, its symptoms, and its causes. You should be interested in learning various approaches to managing ADHD and be able to understand how different strategies may best fit each individual. It is also helpful to have experience working with clients who have ADHD or similar conditions. An undergraduate degree in psychology, counselling, social work or a related field would be beneficial as well.
